The challenge
HaramBlur started as a browser extension that blurs indecent images and videos. It now has Android and iPhone apps too, all free to download with paid features. The brand had been on social media for a few months, but its reach was still small.
My role
I joined in late 2025 to create and manage the brand's content: posts, videos and designs, from idea to publishing. I'm the only person on the team working on content. My role is content creation, but I also give the brand owner marketing advice based on my earlier experience.
Strategy
Test different content types and keep what drives engagement and conversions. Instead of paid ads, use what influencers and users already say about HaramBlur, and use emotional content that moves people to support the project, through donation campaigns and the financial support program.
Execution
- Tested content types and doubled down on the ones that worked.
- Reposted videos that influencers made about HaramBlur, and asked creators for Collaboration posts with our accounts.
- Content that sells the paid features of the extension and the mobile apps.
- Donation campaigns and the financial support program that keep the team building.
Results
With almost no paid ads, the Facebook page reached more than 40K followers in four months, and it's now close to 50K. Across all platforms, the brand has more than 100K followers as of October 2026.
What I learned
Testing beats guessing. The audience tells you what to make next.
